Hello friends,
I hope your 2023 has had the chance to be r e l a x i n g . Soft. Filled with space to breathe, to receive instead of give.
I have been especially enamored with the “in” and “out” list trend I’ve been seeing the last few weeks. There’s something inspiring about seeing which things — from healing modalities to pastries— people want to include in their next year, as well as what unhelpful bits they’re leaving behind.
Something about the list particularly, the juxtaposition of seemingly disparate things with varying levels of seeming “importance,” how an object can be a stand-in for a state of mind or a feeling, a personal language in and of itself.
I’ve been working on making lists of my own, factoring in the major astrological shifts of 2023 to better determine where our vibe will be.
Major 2023 transits:
Jupiter in Aries and Taurus- the greater benefic bringing us opportunity through our individual agency and touching grass
Pluto’s ingress into Aquarius- the planet of depth and radical change moving into the sign that aims to creative new structures/find meaning on the margins
Venus retrograde in Leo- the planet of pleasure, beauty and love will be in the sign of eminence, generous creativity and enlightened selfishness. How can your relationship with yourself impact your relationship to everything else?
Saturn’s ingress into Pisces: Pisces is all about flows, playful wisdom through contradiction, mysticism, oneness. Saturn here will have us regulating, constricting and creating practical avenues for our more poetic, spiritual parts of our lives.
For the “out” list, I draw from 2022 transits we are probably all ready to leave behind:
Saturn in its domiciles for the past five years: discipline, restriction and long-term planning may have been especially present and burdensome since 2017.
Mars retrograde in Gemini: work doesn’t get done, clowns appear at every opportunity
Saturn square Uranus: tension between our structures and our freedom; continual stress tests turn into sudden change
Jupiter conjoined Neptune: a time ripe for poetic, spiritual discoveries, just as much as widespread delusion, false idols and escapism.
I’m more and more into the role of “trend forecaster,” not as an arbiter of what people can and cannot enjoy but as a way to encourage myself and others to make an event out of the things that are making their life better.

More specifically, I want to help you engage in the distinct flavor of each month of 2023 using the Medieval Islamicate technique of continuous profections to isolate when certain topics will be emphasized as well as when peak months, months of destiny and months of joy arise. The research I’ve been doing with clients so far has proven the astonishing accuracy of this technique and I’m so excited to share it with you. I want to luxuriate in the details with you, getting to know each month not just for what may happen but what it will feel like.
Big thanks to Dr. Ali Olomi's work on this technique. It is because of his scholarship I can even offer this.
I also love how well this technique lends itself to a celestial co-creation of your fate. Perhaps you want to move in the next year. We can pinpoint when real estate and the home is a major theme and see which planet(s) is involved and maybe begin rituals, petitions, or remediation to help bring the cosmos in alignment with your plans.
But I also want to bring in what Jupiter in Pisces has taught me— that our will has limits. That there is agency in letting go. Some days, weeks, months, may be tiresome, hectic, accident-prone or slowed-down. Perhaps a certain star or planet or deity wants to work with you. I can help you make contact as well as help invite synchronicities and the ability to notice them.
Because astrology shouldn’t just teach us how to act, but how to listen. Some transits are good for hiding out and waiting. Some are good for crying your eyes out. All is allowed within this space.
To accommodate people’s financial diversity, I am offering different-sized bundles, with the initial intake costing $250 and follow-ups clocking in at $150, a 25% discount of my one-off predictive readings:

As an artist myself, I love working with other artists and by artists I mean pretty much everyone—those who think arranging outfits and playlists; watching sunsets and going on meandering walks; drawing every day and writing what spirit compels you to— are all vital to living. Same goes for magicians and mystics. All of these titles are essentially creative acts that also require deep listening and flow.
I want help those who want a more cyclical view of time, who believe every moment and state is a sacred body to move through.
Before I move forward, however, I want to spend time luxuriating on 2022. I’ve been writing Recent Bedroom in its current iteration since April and am, quite frankly, impressed by how much I’ve written.
I wanted to highlight 10 newsletters I loved, in no particular order, and remind me that these exist! Read them and take what you need :)
Own Your Visions: Delineating the Third House: To me, the 3rd house is the secret superpower of the chart— not only does it describe our immediate surroundings— friends, siblings, coffee shops, bike routes—it gives us a peek into our minds and intuition. As the House of the Goddess, it describes how the sacred visits us in every moment— through ritual, omens, tarot, runes, and dreams. This essay helps even the beginner astrology student begin to approach this portal.
The Poetics of Prophecy: This essay had been worked, re-worked and shunted away for months before I revised this relational astrology manifesto and shared it with all of you. Coined by Diana Rose Harper, Michael J. Morris and Pallas Augustine, relational astrology is a way of viewing self and sky as a means of connection and mutual benefit. These thoughts on poetry as friendship and prophecy as a creative act are my contribution to this concept.
The Muses: A Primer: My creative practice is an extension of my spiritual practice, another way of communing with the divine. The Muses, the personification of art in the form of nine goddesses, are great entry-points into seeing the sacred nature of your art. Read this if you want to learn what they reveal about creativity and how they can help keep the inspiration flowing.
The Soul Part I: Mercury: I’ve spent much of 2022 considering the soul, and, in astrology, that also means studying Mercury. I loved being able to give an often-times pigeonholed planet
Low-Browing my Way to the Top: I love putting serious thought into seemingly frivolous things, like celebrity culture, in part because I think it’s meaningful and super fun. Understanding the Kardashians helps us understand how myths of beauty, success, romance and power are made in our collective culture. I love using astrology to help us understand why, for example, Leo Dicaprio cannot date women over 25 and why Tristan was bad news for Khloe from the start. Enjoy without guilt :)
All Beauty is Transition: I believe fun is enough. I believe beauty is enough. I believe being present to the world in all is shifts gets us closer to our truths, as we all have the ability to divine, or commune with the unseen. Let this newsletter inspire your own pleasure.
All in all is All We Are: an astrological homage to rest.
Talisman Diaries: This newsletter is a celebration of spirit relationships, of waiting for the right time, of noticing omens and letting what you change, changes you. On a more straight-forward level, I share the thoughts, feelings and intuitions that arose surrounding the creation of my first talisman, a Cancer III lunar set for increased magic and underworld protection. May it inspire your own ensouling.
Prayer for Images: I believe that pictures— those that arise from dreams and scrying, art, decanic images and plantery scenes/symbols— contain wisdom that words and insights solely of the mind cannot. I explore topics such as the lord of spirit, decans and fixed stars to share how much shifting, intuitive meaning can be grokked from sitting with the images of our life. Astrology can help reveal what is already there.
Good Luck & Divine Message: on the Fifth House Part II: While the first part on the 5th house is also great, I especially love Part II of this series because it gets into some of the stranger significations of the house of children: emissaries, luck/fortune and creativity. Learn the fertility of yourself and your chart in all its ways.
For now, I leave you with this:
Until next week,
Chloe
