🌹My Books are Open for July🌹
looking at a flower, a conversation between friends, the smell of the sea, eating a summer peach: this is what an astrology consult with me is like. these moments are what makes life meaningful. these moments are where we transform.
it’s like the end of the rilke poem where after basking in the glow of an ancient statue, the writer decides “you must change your life” in its wake
this is how i conduct my consults, my work, my art: by honoring those sacred moments of revelation and bringing them out of people
I dare you to consider the gravity of your unfolding as it comes alive in your little gestures— where the magic is. I help people witness their lives, which leads to harnessing their depths, which leads to change.
My consults are a distillation of this magic, creating wisdom that arises from wise conversation between friends.

Reflections on Style
On Thursday, we wrapped the 21-day Styling with the Stars Challenge. Over the course of three weeks, I gave you prompts, astrological information and ideas for connecting your style to your natal chart. We explored our fashion sense through journaling, tarot cards, image collecting, our astrological placements and inviting Venus to inspire us. It was my favorite sort of wisdom journey: one that combines research with creativity and intuition.
What I love about challenges like these is that they make us ponder a part of our lives that we may overlook: though we get dressed every day, it’s easy to get into ruts or choose the same dozen items in the same combinations. By bringing astrology into our wardrobes, we can open ourselves to the many facets of our style and find inspiration within our many parts.
I love using image-collecting sites like Pinterest because I can juxtapose many different images next to each other and get a wide-ranging view of what I consider my style. Here are a few images from my own Pinterest Board:
Through seeing your own engagement with the challenge and completing it alongside y’all, I came to some insights.
Our Style is Complex
In Volume II of Styling with the Stars, I describe multiple placements in our charts that have a big role in shaping our style. In the Challenge I highlight four of them:
Venus
The Ascendant
5th House
The Lot of Eros
By having you go deep on multiple parts of your chart, I invite in multiple fashion archetypes that can lead to delicious contradiction. Perhaps your Ascendant is ruled by Mars but your Venus is ruled by the Moon. While Mars favor sharp, stand-out silhouettes and dark, shocking colors, the Moon works in softness, pale whites and silver; flowing lines. Somehow, you contain both. Maybe there are certain days you want the armor of Mars; other days, the mundane mysticism of the Moon. Perhaps you like mixing your leather jacket with your peasant dress. All is allowed, included. Astrology gives a language to your different sartorial impulses and makes room for all of your desires to be expressed.
Limits Stoke Creativity
For the final few days of the challenge I had participants create a capsule wardrobe. They could choose any ten articles of clothing to mix and match for a week. These items could speak to a one strain of your style you wish to explore or integrate pieces from the varying styles of your chart placements. When I did this with my own closet, I was pleasantly surprised with how succinctly I could distill the different facets of my style into less than a dozen pieces of clothing. With just those items, I could dress more sleek and sporty, more flowy and lush or somewhere in between if I felt like it. Despite having many different placements that can impact our style, sometimes imposing rules or structure can lead to more play or show how we can express our many sides with just a few outfits or looks.
Fashion is a Feeling
I found something interesting happened to my life as I engaged more directly with my sense of style. Pleasure and beauty felt more accessible in many areas of life. I danced more. Treated myself just because. Hung out with friends. Flirted. By spending more time on aligning what I wore to my ever-shifting sense of self, I made the delights of my life more present, even exalted them. By paying attention and turning my style into an act of devotion, my sense of enchantment and aesthetics infused other areas of my life, showed me, experientially, the mystical power of dressing up. Case in point: my recent trip to the sea.

Roses in the Sea
In a recent intuitive reading, I was asked if I had a relationship with a god that didn’t punish or believe you need to earn nice things. I immediately thought of Venus. At the end of our reading, the reader assigned me homework: give a bouquet of roses to the sea. So, last Sunday, I dressed up, gathered 7 roses (the number sacred to Venus) from my parents’ garden and drove to the coast just for the offering. I took my shoes off as I got closer to the water. It was cool but not freezing. I waded farther from the shore, the crashing waves soaking the hem of my dress. I said the Orphic hymn to Venus, applied Venus in Pisces materia and prayed for goodness without struggle, love without effort. I promised to be a vessel for Venus’s delight. After I tossed the roses into the ocean, I watched them shift along with the waves, some washing onto shore before being taken up by the water again.
This is why I’m alive, I decided. To be that weirdo at the beach with her bouquet of roses that she gives to the water. In this way, my life can be like the Charli song I listened to during the ritual: everything is romantic. Life will always be weird and hard and heart-breaking. It will also always be sweet, full of things to desire and connect to. For my flower essence class, I read up on the concept of allurement.
The author puts it like this:
Why don’t we suffer intolerable boredom with every person, forest, symphony, and seashore in existence? The great surprise is the discovery that someone or something is interesting. Love begins there. Love begins when we discover interest…To become fascinated is to step into a wild love affair on any level of life…Destiny unfolds in the pursuit of individual fascinations and interests (Brian Swimme, “The Green Dragon”).
By following our desires, our pleasures, our “allurements,” we create our path, we bring more life and creation into this world.
Our jobs as humans is to witness the beauty and connection underpinning our world and to make the universe aware of its own unending love.
We are not separate from the world but our taking part in it and really experiencing what she has to offer is a vital part of its ecosystem.
If you want help identifying and following your own allurements, book a consult with me. I have natal chart readings for those looking to initiate into their own mysteries; timing readings for those who want to sync with their current time’s unfolding; fixed star readings for those who want to connect to their celestial soul journeys and creative practice readings for all the artists and makers who need help grounding their practice.
I would be honored to connect with you.
For now, I leave you with this:
Until next week,
Love,
Chloe
